BOLIVIA - 15 DAYS
DAY 1 Arrival in La Paz – Moon Valley - Meet and greet at the Airport and transfer to your hotel. Time at Leisure before a guided tour with visits to a local handicraft market and the famous Witches’ Market. Pass by the San Francisco Colonial Church, Plaza Murillo, the Government Palace, and the National Congress. Enjoy a light trek to the Moon Valley to see the lunar landscapes and unique geological formations. End with a ride up the world’s highest cable car with breath taking views over La Paz.
DAY 2 La Paz - Tiwanacu (B) – Drive to Tiwanacu, a World Heritage Site located on Lake Titicaca’s south eastern shore and one of the most important pre-Incan civilizations. Walk around the archeological complex with the Akapana pyramid, the semi-subterranean temple, the Kalasasaya Palace, the sun gate, and the Ponce & Fraile monoliths.
DAY 3 La Paz – Sucre (B) – Transfer to the airport for your flight to Sucre, the official capital of Bolivia. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Continue on to see the House of Liberty Museum, Palace of Justice, Recoleta look-out, Santo Domingo church, San Felipe de Nery convent, and Bolivar park.
DAY 4 Sucre - Jatun Yampara Community (B) - Visit the indigenous community Jatun Yampara whose inhabitants are from one of the most ancient cultures in the continent, You can appreciate their typical houses, clothes, ceramics and colorful handicrafts.
DAY 5 Sucre - Dinosaur footprints & Glorieta Castle (B) - Visit Cal Orcko, the largest site in the world with fossilized dinosaur tracks. Visit also the Castle of the Glorieta, a sample of the European ecclesiastical architecture. Walk through the Colonial Village of Yotala, of Spanish design, cobbled streets, one-story houses, white walls and red roofs.
DAY 6 Sucre – Potosi – (B) - Pick up from hotel and transfer to Potosi, a city founded in 1545, following the discovery of ore in silver-rich Cerro Rico. Visit the principal monuments and churches, the main cathedral, tower de la Compañia, 1787 historical arch and San Francisco church.
DAY 7 Potosi - Uyuni (B/D) - In the morning visit a colonial mine dating from 1600 where it is estimated that millions of Africans and Indians may have died in the appalling conditions over 3 centuries. Afterwards private overland transfer to Uyuni, the gateway for excursions to the Uyuni Salt Flats. Take your adventures into the world’s largest salt flat and be amazed by its unique, breathtaking landscapes.
DAY 8 Uyuni Salt Flat (B/L/D) - Departure to Colchani on the edge of the salt flats. Local people from Colchani extract salt from the flats using rudimentary tools such as picks, axes and shovels in their work. Visit a small salt plant and cross the Salt Lake visiting the salt eyes, small bubbling mud pots and the salt pyramids. Visit Incahuasi Island, an ancient volcano famous for its gigantic cactus plants. Continue on to the underwater Galaxy Caves, formed by the volcanic eruption over the waters of Lago Miuchi. Return to your hotel.
DAY 9 Uyuni - Ojo de Perdiz – (B/L*/D) - Visit the train cemetery and continue to Ollague look-out point and the lagoons Hedionda, Chiarkhota and Honda. These mineral rich lakes are filled with Andean, Chilean and Jame’s flamingos . Arrival & overnight at Siloli desert.
DAY 10 National Park Eduardo Avaroa (B/L*/D) - Visit the stone tree, a rock of volcanic origin shaped like a 5 meter high tree. Continue on to Laguna Colorada, its rich red colour comes from algae and plankton which thrive in the mineral rich water. See the Polques hot springs and visit “Sol de Mañana” a high geyser basin with bubbling mud pots, hellish fumaroles and a thick aroma of sulphur fumes before returning to Uyuni.
DAY 11 Uyuni - Santa Cruz (B) – Transfer to the airport for your flight to Santa Cruz, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Meet & greet at the Airport and transfer to your hotel followed by a visit to the Zoological Garden, the main square and a handicraft Market.
DAY 12 Santa Cruz - Guembe Biocenter (B/L) – Drive to the Güembé Biocenter, this hidden paradise is surrounded by innumerable exotic plants, lush forests and regional animals. Visit the world’s largest butterfly sanctuary, an orchid farm, and enjoy a nature walk along the park’s trails through beautiful forests and stop at different natural pools for a swim.
DAY 13 Santa Cruz - Lomas de Arena (B) - Visit Lomas de Arena, one of the most important preserves with samples of transitional Chaco forest, natural savannas, sand dunes, plains and forest areas that host a varied diversity of wildlife. Enjoy a walk along a spectacular 5 km path.
DAY 14 Santa Cruz - Samaipata (B/L) – Drive to Samaipata with views of a beautiful chain of mountains named "Volcanes". Arrive at "El Fuerte" where you will find Inca buildings and continue on to "Las Cuevas" & "El Chorro" waterfalls before returning to Santa Cruz.
DAY 15 Santa Cruz (B) – Day at leisure until time for your transfer to the airport.
